This site is the descendent of brians.org, a personal site
I've been running since 1995. I began improvist.org to house all
the same information, but tailored more to a regularly-updated web log.
It pretty much covers everything I'm working on, as well as storing
family photos and movies, recipes, and details on my projects.
As the name suggests, the main focus of the site is on the
free weekly recordings of piano improvisations that I post. These are being
released quarterly in the form of CDs which you can order from this site.
The site runs on a FreeBSD virtual server, using a Perl + XSLT
content-management I wrote called WaxML. I use
vi for site development (that's right).
If you're interested in more about me, you can read this short
bio, or my
resume.
